About this service
If you start a trade or commercial business (Gewerbe) in Berlin, register it with the public order office (Ordnungsamt) of the district where the business is based when you start. Liberal professions such as doctors, lawyers and artists are exempt. Registration works online, with a BundID account (sole traders, GmbH, UG, GbR) or without (other company forms). Fees in 2026 include €26 per sole trader or per partner, €31 for a legal entity with one representative, and €15 for online registration.
