About this service

Every Berlin district has at least one state-recognised debt and insolvency counselling centre, run by non-profit organisations. Counselling is free and covers budgeting, negotiating with creditors, wage garnishment and the consumer insolvency procedure. Go to a centre in the district where you live and bring all letters from creditors, reminders, income and benefit notices, and any eviction or disconnection notices. Use the Senate's official list or the LAG SIB map to find one.
