About this service
The state agency that administers rent stabilization. Tenants can request an apartment's rent history (to find out whether it is rent-stabilized) online through the Ask HCR portal, by phone or by email at rentinfo@nyshcr.org; the history is mailed to the apartment only if it is stabilized. Rent-stabilized tenants can ask HCR for a rent reduction order if required services such as heat, water or repairs are not provided.
