Free mother and child health centres for children under 6 and their families, with no catchment area: you can go to any centre. Teams offer preventive check-ups, vision and hearing screening, compulsory vaccinations, advice on childcare and breastfeeding, parenting support and early-years activities; PMI midwives answer questions on pregnancy, birth and contraception. Call the centre before you go.
